Our Testing Process
Winsul/Thiovit/Cosan Bactericide
What is Winsul, Thiovit, and Cosan?
Winsul, Thiovit, and Cosan are brands of bactericides used in agriculture and horticulture to control bacterial diseases on plants. These chemical products are typically applied to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria on crops, including fruits and vegetables, by inhibiting bacterial growth and activity.
Why do I have an intolerance?
These bactericides contain sulfur compounds and other chemicals that can irritate the respiratory system, skin, and eyes. Prolonged exposure or improper use can cause allergic reactions such as asthma, skin rashes, or eye irritation. People with sensitivities to sulfur or pesticides may be particularly vulnerable to these effects.
What can I do about it?
To minimize exposure, always wear protective gear, such as gloves and goggles, when handling or applying these bactericides. Ensure the area is well-ventilated and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions. If you're sensitive to sulfur or pesticides, consider using organic alternatives like neem oil or copper-based treatments, which are gentler on both the environment and your health.
