Lavender Tea Tree
What is Lavender Tea Tree?
Lavender tea tree essential oil is a hybrid of lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). It combines the calming properties of lavender with the antibacterial and antifungal benefits of tea tree oil. The scent is floral and herbaceous, making it popular in skincare for its soothing and healing qualities.
Why do I have an intolerance?
Intolerance may occur due to the presence of terpinen-4-ol, which can cause skin irritation in some individuals. Those allergic to tea tree or lavender might also react negatively to this blend.
What can I do about it?
To avoid irritation, dilute lavender tea tree oil with a carrier oil for topical applications. If using a diffuser, begin with a small amount to assess tolerance. Mixing with other calming oils, such as lavender or frankincense, can help balance the blend.
