What is Couscous?

  • Couscous is made from semolina and is usually served alongside meat, vegetables, sauces, stews, and tagines. But, it can also be tossed into salads and used to bulk up baked goods or as a filler (similar to breadcrumbs) in hamburgers or meatloaf.
  • Couscous is known to contain Gluten.
  • Couscous, while made from semolina, derived from wheat (white), has been refined.
  • An intolerance to this pasta may be a result of the refining process.
