Apple (Jazz)
What is Jazz apples?
Jazz apples are a cross between Gala and Braeburn apples, known for their crunchy texture and sweet-tart flavor. The apple has a firm skin with hues of red and yellow, making it a great choice for snacking and cooking.
Why do I have an intolerance to it?
Jazz apples may trigger OAS due to proteins that resemble pollen allergens, especially in people with birch pollen allergies. These proteins can cause a tingling sensation, itching, or mild swelling in the mouth or throat.
What can I do about it?
Peeling the apple or using it in cooked forms, such as baked goods, can reduce allergenic proteins and lessen symptoms.
