What is Condensed cow’s milk?
Condensed cow’s milk is a thick, sweetened milk product made by removing water from cow's milk and adding sugar. It’s often used in desserts, baking, and candy-making due to its sweet, creamy texture. Condensed milk is rich and calorie-dense, with a longer shelf life compared to regular milk.
Why do I have an intolerance to it?
Condensed milk contains both lactose and milk proteins, which can be problematic for those with lactose intolerance or dairy protein sensitivities. The lactose in condensed milk can cause digestive symptoms like bloating and cramps, while some may react to the proteins, leading to discomfort or allergic reactions.
What can I do about it?
If you are intolerant to condensed milk, you can use lactose-free or plant-based condensed milk substitutes made from coconut or other non-dairy ingredients.
