Fir, Silver
What is Silver fir?
Silver fir essential oil is derived from the needles of the Abies alba tree and is prized for its fresh, crisp, and woody scent. It is commonly used in aromatherapy to promote clear breathing, reduce stress, and create a calming environment. The oil’s grounding properties also make it useful for meditation and relaxation.
Why do I have an intolerance?
Sensitivity to silver fir essential oil may result from its pinene and limonene content, which can be sensitizing to some individuals. Those with skin or respiratory sensitivities may experience mild irritation when using the oil, especially if applied in concentrated forms or diffused in large quantities.
What can I do about it?
To avoid irritation, use silver fir oil sparingly or dilute it well before application. Consider using cedarwood or frankincense as alternatives, which offer similar grounding and calming properties while being gentler on sensitive systems.
