Helichrysm Italicum
What is Helichrysm Italicum?
Helichrysum italicum essential oil is extracted from the flowers of the Helichrysum italicum plant, commonly known as immortelle. It has a rich, honey-like, and earthy aroma and is prized for its regenerative and healing properties. Helichrysum italicum oil is often used in skincare to reduce the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. It is also valued for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.
Why do I have an intolerance?
Intolerance to helichrysum italicum essential oil may stem from its high ester content, which can cause skin irritation for sensitive individuals. Although this oil is generally well-tolerated, those with sensitive skin or a history of allergic reactions to floral oils may experience mild discomfort when using it in high concentrations.
What can I do about it?
To minimize irritation, dilute helichrysum italicum oil before applying it to the skin. If sensitivity persists, try using other skin-rejuvenating oils like rosehip or lavender, which offer similar anti-aging and healing benefits without the same risk of irritation.
