Hemp

What is Hemp?

Hemp essential oil is extracted from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. Unlike CBD or THC oils, hemp essential oil does not contain psychoactive properties. It has a mild, nutty aroma and is commonly used for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and moisturizing properties. Hemp oil is often included in skincare products to help hydrate and balance the skin, as well as in aromatherapy for its calming effects.

Why do I have an intolerance?

Intolerance to hemp essential oil may result from its high content of fatty acids, such as omega-3 and omega-6, which can trigger skin irritation for sensitive individuals. Those with a history of allergic reactions to other seed-based oils or plant-based products may also experience discomfort when using hemp oil.

What can I do about it?

To avoid irritation, ensure the oil is diluted before topical application, or limit its use in your skincare routine. If sensitivity continues, consider switching to alternatives like argan or jojoba oil, which offer similar moisturizing benefits without the same potential for irritation.
