Ho Wood

What is Ho Wood?

Ho wood essential oil is distilled from the wood of the Cinnamomum camphora tree, the same tree from which ho leaf oil is derived. It has a similar sweet, floral, and woody aroma due to its high linalool content. Ho wood oil is often used in aromatherapy for its ability to calm the mind, promote relaxation, and reduce stress. It is also popular in skincare for its soothing and regenerative properties, especially for sensitive or mature skin.

Why do I have an intolerance?

Like ho leaf oil, ho wood oil is rich in linalool, which can be irritating for some individuals. Those who are sensitive to essential oils with high linalool content, such as lavender or coriander, may experience skin irritation or mild allergic reactions when using ho wood oil.

What can I do about it?

To minimize sensitivity, dilute ho wood oil before applying it to the skin. If irritation continues, you might switch to other calming essential oils like sandalwood or frankincense, which provide similar soothing and anti-aging benefits with less risk of irritation.
