Lawn Care

What is Lawn Care?

Lawn Care refers to a variety of products used to maintain and improve the health of lawns, including fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides. These products aim to promote green growth while controlling weeds, pests, and diseases that could harm the lawn.

Why do I have an intolerance?

Many Lawn Care products contain chemicals like fertilizers (e.g., ammonium nitrate), herbicides (e.g., glyphosate), and insecticides (e.g., pyrethroids), which can cause skin irritation, eye discomfort, and respiratory problems upon exposure. Those with sensitivities to these chemicals may experience symptoms like rashes, nausea, headaches, coughing, or dizziness. Prolonged exposure has been associated with more serious health risks, including liver damage and neurological disorders.

What can I do about it?

To reduce exposure to Lawn Care chemicals, wear appropriate protective gear when applying products. Apply them on calm days to minimize drift, and avoid direct contact with skin or eyes. Consider using organic alternatives such as compost, natural mulch, or non-toxic insect control methods to reduce the need for chemical interventions.
