Ravensara
What is Ravensara?
Ravensara essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the Ravensara aromatica tree, native to Madagascar. Known for its fresh, spicy, and slightly eucalyptus-like scent, Ravensara is often used in aromatherapy for respiratory health, immune support, and soothing muscle tension. It’s considered a “versatile healer” due to its broad range of benefits.
Why do I have an intolerance?
Some individuals develop an intolerance to Ravensara oil because of its high content of active compounds like cineole, which can be harsh on sensitive skin or trigger respiratory discomfort. People sensitive to camphoraceous or minty aromas may find Ravensara’s scent overpowering.
What can I do about it?
To manage intolerance to Ravensara oil, use it in well-ventilated areas and dilute it with a carrier oil if applied to the skin. Blending it with softer oils like lavender or cedarwood can balance its intensity while still offering benefits. Limiting the duration of exposure and frequency of use can also help mitigate potential irritation.
