Red wine shows red while white wine shows green. Can you explain what is different about red wine that causes it to be in the red zone while white is safe?

Red wine contains far higher tannins than white wine, so this could be the culprit here. In addition red wine has a far higher concentration of catechins, epicatechin, and more due to the fact that the grape skins and seeds are used in the fermentation process, whereas typical white wine is not.
