Rosewood
What is Rosewood?
Rosewood essential oil is distilled from the wood of the Aniba rosaeodora tree, native to the Amazon rainforest. It has a warm, sweet, and floral aroma, known for its soothing, grounding effects. Rosewood is often used in skincare for its gentle properties and in aromatherapy for relaxation.
Why do I have an intolerance?
Some individuals may experience an intolerance to Rosewood oil due to its natural aldehydes and terpenes, which can cause skin irritation or respiratory discomfort. The scent may also be too strong for people sensitive to woody aromas.
What can I do about it?
To manage intolerance to Rosewood, dilute it significantly with a carrier oil before topical application, as it can be intense in its pure form. Using it sparingly in a diffuser and combining it with softer floral oils, like lavender or geranium, can create a more gentle aromatic experience that minimizes the chance of irritation.
