Shirlan

What is Shirlan?

Shirlan is a systemic fungicide used to control diseases like downy mildew, powdery mildew, and other fungal infections in crops such as grapes, vegetables, and flowers. It prevents fungal growth by interfering with their cell division processes.

Why do I have an intolerance?

Shirlan contains the active ingredient cyprodinil, which can cause skin irritation, respiratory distress, and eye irritation if exposed to the skin or inhaled. Prolonged exposure to the chemical may lead to more serious health issues like dizziness, headaches, nausea, and possible liver damage.

What can I do about it?

Always wear appropriate protective equipment when using Shirlan, such as gloves, a face mask, and safety goggles. Apply it according to the manufacturer’s directions, and avoid direct contact with the chemical. If you are sensitive, consider using natural alternatives like copper-based fungicides or organic treatments.
