Testing Ghrelin and Leptin

What is Leptin?

Leptin is a hormone produced by fat cells that circulates in the bloodstream and signals the brain when the body has sufficient fat reserves to use as energy. Often called the "starvation hormone," Leptin levels drop during dieting, signaling the body that it is in a state of energy deficit, which can increase hunger.

When Leptin levels are balanced, appetite regulation improves. However, a deficiency or imbalance in Leptin levels may contribute to weight gain.

What is Ghrelin?

Ghrelin, commonly referred to as the "hunger hormone," is primarily produced in the stomach and signals the brain when the body is hungry. Ghrelin levels rise during fasting or dieting, triggering hunger pangs, and decrease after eating. Elevated Ghrelin levels can be a contributing factor to weight gain.

How We Assess Leptin and Ghrelin Levels

Using advanced biotechnology, we analyze your hair sample to assess Leptin and Ghrelin levels in your body. This analysis helps identify whether your levels are within the normal range or if an imbalance exists when compared to thousands of patients.

Imbalances in these hormones can have various causes. By understanding your current levels, you can explore personalized treatments and strategies to help regulate appetite and support effective weight management.

Food tracking apps and tests are a good way to monitor and measure your appetite.
