What does it mean when certain food and alcohol are in the red? Do you eliminate it altogether?
Any food or drink which is in red has been identified as being inflammatory casing. The best thing to do would be to abstain from consuming these specific items for a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks. The difference with intolerances is that they do not mean forever (unlike allergies which may mean that the particular item may never be able to be consumed again.) A simple analogy here to explain the reason why: when we injure our cells such as a broken limb - which is effectively millions of broken cells, we are advised to rest the area and place it in a plaster and avoid any irritation. The same may apply to inflammatory-causing foods (foods and drinks listed in red/orange.) As such if we abstain from these items then t allows the cells to rest and heal so they can potentially tolerate the offending inflammatory causing items once again.
