What is an imbalance in Lipase? How do I fix it?
Lipase is a digestive enzyme and is used to digest fats. Lipase is produced in the pancreas, mouth, and stomach. If you have an imbalance in Lipase, it may be that your diet is too fatty rich, or either due to not chewing enough before swallowing. A Lipase imbalance may also be due to inflammation with the pancreas and stomach (from eating inflammatory foods) amongst many other reasons such as already diagnosed medical conditions from your medical professional. If you have no diagnosed medical conditions with your pancreas or stomach, then you may wish to revert to the inflammation caused by consuming inflammatory foods.
To balance out the depletion levels of Lipase, chew your food more thoroughly before swallowing so that Lipase has time to be produced in the mouth. You may also wish to decrease your refined fat (junk food fat) consumption by 10% and replace it with healthier saturated fats or vegetables/fruits. Opting for a digestive enzyme supplement containing Lipase can also help.
