What is Semolina?

  • Semolina is a cereal grain, a coarse flour made from durum wheat, a hard type of wheat. When ground into flour, durum wheat is known as semolina and used all over the world in bread, pasta, and porridge.
  • Semolina is known to contain Gluten. 
  • Semolina is also known to contain a higher content of the protein gliadin.
  • An intolerance to this cereal grain may be due to this protein, or where there is an inflamed digestive system.
