What is Protease, and how do I fix it?
Protease is a digestive enzyme used to digest protein. Protease is produced in the stomach, pancreas, and small intestine. It may be that your diet is too protein-rich, or there may be inflammation with the stomach, pancreas and small intestine (due to inflammatory causing foods.) Already diagnosed medical conditions from your medical professional may also be contributing to this imbalance. If you have no diagnosed medical conditions in these areas, you may wish to revert to inflammatory-causing foods.
Chewing your food more thoroughly before swallowing so that Protease has time to be produced in the mouth can help rebalance Protease. You may also wish to decrease your protein consumption by 10% and replace it with more vegetables/fruits or plant-based proteins, which can be easier to digest. Opting for a digestive enzyme supplement containing Protease can also help.
