What is the difference between lactose and cheeses? Doesn’t cheese have lactose?
That is a valid question and while a lot of cheeses do contain lactose they do so at a much lower rate, between 2 - 10% of lactose is found in certain cheeses. When we test each item we test it at 100% of the volume. Which means lets say that you scored red for lactose and that you scored green for cheddar cheese. Cheddar cheese contains approximately 3% lactose, which means you would have to consume over 30 times cheddar cheese that you may do daily in order to instigate a reaction from the lactose content. This can be particularly useful when following a rotation diet.
