What is the strain Streptomyces and how do I correct an imbalance?
Streptomyces has been studied as a beneficial bacteria strain and has been shown to offer good sources of bioactive compounds, antibiotics, and extracellular enzymes. It also plays an active role in regulating the rest of the beneficial bacteria in the gut biome. This means that a deficit in this strain may affect immunity and how well food is processed in the digestive system, particularly proteins.
Fermented foods including kimchi, kombucha, natto offer replenishment of the bacteria, streptomyces. Soil based probiotics have also been known to be beneficial.
