Why is ginger yellow when I use it to settle my stomach? How should I eat it?
It may be that ginger is being over consumed and as such, it may be instigating a silent inflammatory response. The digestive system is effectively a muscle and much like overstimulating a muscle - I can grow tired and weak. This is why we are advised that rotation and variation are key when following a diet. Unlike allergies, intolerances have the capability to heal by simply abstaining from that item for a minimum period of 6 - 8 weeks. A simple analogy to help explain the reason why - when we injure a limb (such as break a bone) which effectively millions of broken cells, we are told to rest the area and remove any irritation by placing the limb in plaster for a period of 6 - 8weeks. The same analogy can be applied to food and drink intolerances.
